I love photographing rustic New Jersey weddings. The beautiful ceremony space & rustic charm of Rode’s Barn are so welcoming and truly brings to life a small and intimate wedding. Laura Ashley Events really glammed up the barn with lush florals, geometric pieces, and gold accents. Jessica had a very unique vision, and with the help of all the vendors, it came to fruition perfectly.

Jessica and Joe have been together for 14 years. They were surrounded by close family and friends and had their 2 loving children by their side. Jessica was excited and glowing the entire day, regardless of the stress that a wedding can potentially create.

From the first look to the ceremony to the dance filled reception, this family never stopped showing love and having fun. It was similar to watching a close friend finally find the person they were supposed to be with and being able to celebrate something like that with someone is pretty incredible.

The jean jacket was so creative and went so well with the overall aesthetic that I might just be considering something similar for my own wedding (if that happens eventually). Jessica’s composure and willingness to do more creative stylings of photos is something I truly appreciate. Even her bouquet was completely fitting for the style she was looking for. And she even included a very sweet nod to her grandmother via the pendant on the flowers. I always love when couples try to honor those that they’ve lost or just simply couldn’t be there. It was such a sincere, yet simple, nod to someone who was no longer with them.

My favorite part of the day, though? Their son, Joseph, gave one of the most incredible and heart-warming toasts that I’ve ever heard, regardless of the fact that he was only a 12 year old boy. There’s something to be said for the ability of the parents to raise a child that, not only has the confidence to stand up in front of a large room of people, but also deliver a speech that had even me crying.

Last but certainly not least, Joe was mild-mannered, funny and handled the absurd amount of photos I took with grace, but also…you could see the love in his eyes every time you’d catch him stealing at glance at his newly pronounced wife or either of his children. I couldn’t be any happier with how the photos turned out or with how smoothly every aspect of the day went.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
